After four years of negotiations, Daimler-Benz AG and the Chinese engineering group North Industries Corporation (NORINCO) signed the contracts in September 1988 for the manufacture of Mercedes-Benz heavy-duty trucks in Baotou, Mongolia. Production of a broad range of heavy-duty trucks from 16 tones GVW is to commence in the first half of 1990. Over the space of six years, 15,000 pkd kits will be delivered to China and assembled there. Following this industrialization process, annual production is expected to reach 6,000 units, with a local content of 90%.

Edzard Reuter manifiesta la importancia para el futuro, del después de 4 años de negociación resultando contrato, firmado en septiembre 1988 para la cooperación entre Daimler-Benz y CNGC, Norinco, para la fabricación de camiones pesados ≥16 ton PBV en Baotou. Partiendo 1990 se enviarán en los primeros 6 años 15.000 kit de ensamble de camiones desde Wörth, implementando en los años la producción sobre el 90% de las partes y piezas hechas en China, llegando a 6’000 unidades anuales.

Desde su inicio de la cooperación y la transferencia de tecnología Mercedes Benz, se formo en conjunto con Daimler un propio centro de investigación y desarrollo, donde se  desarrollan basado en Mercedes-Benz, productos para la necesidad de los consumidores Chinos y del mundo, que se apartan de la realidad alemana con sobrecarga, hasta un 60%, alturas de uso, como en el Himalaya >5’000m de altura y velocidades sobre los 80 km/h. Gracias a la aplicación de estrictos controles de calidad de la industria militar y ISO, BEIBEN-Truck goza de la confianza de los mercados como producto prime de la industria. entre NORINCO y Daimler, para fabricar camiones sobre 16 ton, con la tecnología de Mercedes-Benz Wörth y Gagenau en Baotou China. entre NORINCO y Daimler, para fabricar camiones sobre 16 ton, con la tecnología de Mercedes-Benz Wörth y Gagenau en Baotou China.
